This beverage is part of Monster’s new line up of MAXX 12 oz energy drinks. The only one available at my local gas station was the purple Solaris version and you know I’m always up for tasting a new drink! Hop in and let me take you for a ride powered by this ultra-fizzy can of liquid…
I haven’t seen a lot of other consumers purchase/drink Monster’s Extra Strength drinks nor do I know how popular they are but I have always enjoyed them. They’re uber-fizzy and quite smooth with a powerful energy kick.
Monster’s new line up of MAXX seems to be a rip-off or re-branding of the Extra Strength version. To me, Solaris tasted exactly like the green and orange Extra Strength Monsters I’ve previously enjoyed. Really no new flavor here, nothing super exciting, but nothing disappointing at the same time.
The fizz is great- followers of our Drink Reviews will know how much I love carbonation. I have to give praise to Monster for injecting these drinks with Nitrous Oxide “for a smooth unique texture, out of this world flavor and Big Bang Buzz.“
The Monster MAXX Maximum Strength line up has 160 mg of caffeine. I like how I can get this much caffeine from a 12 oz can. Solaris gave me a good buzz that I’m used to getting from Monster. Again, nothing ground breaking here- just a decent boost.
Don’t drink this with anything. You gotta drink it straight up.
Monster’s website says this about the MAXX Solaris:
“Call us crazy, but we supercharged our Monster Energy base then injected it with Nitrous Oxide for a smooth unique texture, out of this world flavor and Big Bang Buzz.
Hop on the rocket ship and enjoy the ride. MAXX Monster knows no limits!“
Before I wrote this review, I decided I was going to pair this drink with No Man’s Sky, then I read the ad for Monster MAXX and I couldn’t believe how well this game and this drink fit together!
No Man’s Sky has a procedurally generated universe that knows no limits. You literally hop on a rocket ship and take flight out of this world! While this sounds awesome on paper, like Solaris, it’s nothing super exciting, but nothing disappointing at the same time.
I give this “out of this world” beverage 3 out of 5 rocket ships. It definately will not take you to the moon and back but if you have never had the other Monster Extra Strength drinks. I will still try the other flavors though.
